It has been one of my great joys to know Michael Colson, first as a friend and singer in the student choir of University Hills Baptist Church, and now as the organist and choral assistant at the same church in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is not often that a worship pastor has the opportunity to follow closely the ministry of his or her student(s) from elementary and middle school years through high school and beyond. Such has been my privilege as I have watched Michael mature, both in stature and in his range of gifts, from a child to a young man with whom I am grateful to serve alongside as a colleague in ministry. Yes, I am pleased to extend to you the musical ministry of Michael Colson, but more, I am pleased to extend to you his love for God, his Christian character, and the grace-filled spirit on which this package of songs for worship and meditation has been created.
